Mrs. McDermott-Pitchell, 80, of Rumson, died Dec. 29, 2009. She resided in Edison, and Seaville, prior to retiring to New Port Richey, Fla. She was predeceased by first husband, Kenneth B. McDermott; her husband, Harry O. Pitchell; and a sister, Adele Dexter. She is survived by five children, J. Duncan McDermott of Woodbine, Damian McDermott of Marlboro, Delia McDermott-Medwin of Warwick, R.I., Dorian Meyer of Rumson, and A. Danielle Balseiro of Basking Ridge; and 11 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Holy Cross Church, Rumson. Arrangements were by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank.
