Mr. Ann C. Brooks, 100, a resident of Freehold since 1971, died Jan. 15, 2010, at McAuley Hall Nursing Home, Watchung. She was the executive secretary for the Brooklyn’s District No. 20 Community School Board (N.Y.) until her retirement in 1977. She was also a former concert violinist and member of the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra for over 20 years. Mrs. Brooks was a daily communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, Freehold Township, where she was also a Eucharistic minister and the past president of the Legion of Mary. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Frank M. Brooks; and a son, John C. Brooks. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Raymond Flood of Freehold Township; a daughter-in-law, Joanne Brooks of Tequesta, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, Freehold Township, followed by entombment in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
