MANVILLE: Police blotter

   A St. John Street resident reported that two of his vehicles had been broken into, and cash totaling $50 had been stolen, which he discovered around 8:25 a.m. Jan. 25. The resident reported $40 missing from one vehicle and $10 missing from the other.
   At 4:53 p.m. Jan. 26, a North Second Avenue resident reported her 1999 gold Nissan Altima had been stolen. Police reported the car, which had the keys in the ignition, was stolen at 4:30 p.m. that day, with the suspect fleeing in an unknown direction. The car was entered in the National Crime Information Center database following the investigation.
   The resident called police on Jan. 27, to report spotting the car on North Ninth Avenue. Police reported recovering the car and the keys, and are continuing the investigation.
   Chrisaundra Rivera, 23, of Hillsborough, was charged with shoplifting cosmetics and clothing valued at $143 from Wal-Mart at 7:34 p.m. Jan. 27. Wal-Mart security reported seeing Ms. Rivera conceal the items and attempt to leave the store through the Lawn and Garden center exit. She was then stopped by security. She was released with a summons after the charge was processed.
   Todd Bennick, 36, of Hillsborough, was charged with driving while intoxicated on Washington Avenue at 2:41 a.m. Jan. 28 after police reported observing Mr. Bennick driving the wrong way on the one-way street, and drifting across the lane.
   After stopping him, police reported smelling a strong odor of alcohol in the car, and performed roadside sobriety tests. Mr. Bennick was transported to the police station, given a breath test, and charged. He was released to a roommate after processing.
   Matthew S. Ciuksza, 18, of North Arlington Street, was charged with shoplifting Playstation 3 video games valued at $39.92 from Wal-Mart at 4:34 p.m. Jan. 30. Store security reported stopping Mr. Ciuksza in the North Main Street store. He was transported to Somerset County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.
