Grateful to staff members for sensitivity to child’s allergy

Ifeel the need to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the staff at Kiddie Academy of East Brunswick for addressing a most important issue.

My son Jake is an incredible child who has endured a lot in his three years of life. We have all dealt with a lot in our family. Learning how to protect a child with a severe allergy has been a challenge, a challenge I am definitely up for, and I’m so glad you are, too.

I know we have a long road ahead of us in the school system. I am aware of just how difficult it is to peanut-proof a home, never mind a school.

After voicing my concerns to you, the response and actions on your part have been all I could ask for. Education is the best way to protect our kids with allergies. I can only hope my future encounters with allergy-related issues are dealt with in the same immediate and caring manner that you have exhibited. I definitely feel safe leaving my son in the hands of teachers who have a strong grasp of the severity of this situation.

I would also like to thank the parents who are being asked to go out of their way to help keep my child safe. Before my son Jake was diagnosed, I was a parent who was totally unaware of food allergies and what that meant. Some of your staff members educated me when my older son came to Kiddie Academy and had a classmate with a severe allergy issue. I was so impressed with the way they handled their classroom that I knew it was the only place for Jake. Glad to see I made the right choice.

Thank you for caring enough to make the changes needed to keep my little love safe.
