Christopher Martin, of Wall Township, The Provident Bank president and CEO, was recently appointed to the board of directors of The Provident Bank Foundation and elected president. The position was vacant after Paul Pantozzi, former president of the foundation, retired at the end of 2009. Martin has served as vice president of the foundation since 2004.

Since its founding, The Provident Bank Foundation has provided more than $13 million in grants to communities for programs that focus on education, health and wellness, recreation, the arts, and social and civic services.

Martin received a master’s degree from Monmouth University. He is also a member of the investment committee for Raritan Bay Medical Center, and serves on the board of directors for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Monmouth County.

Chez Baliyé of Marlboro is helping salon clients across the United States choose the hairstyle of their dreams.

The salon’s work was selected for publication in “Volume 73-Upstyles” of “Inspire,” a popular line of professional hairstyling books. Stylists and colorists use these books to aid salon clients in visualizing new styles.

Salon owner Sandra Baliya, who has been in business for 20 years said she finds it exciting to make her clients feel important and let them be a star for the day.

CentraState Healthcare System has launched a Facebook fan page and Twitter account to enhance its Web presence and better engage patients and the general public.

The CentraState fan page on Facebook offers general information, listings of events, photos and videos. In addition, the page can be used as an interactive forum for health-related and wellness topics.

CentraState’s Twitter account will provide messages on special events, free screenings and lectures, and other hospital related announcements.

The Howell Chamber of Commerce general membership lunch meeting will be held at noon March 3 at Lomurro, Davison, Eastman and Munoz, P.A., Freehold Township. Attorney Robert Munoz will give a presentation about taxes. Lunch will be served during the presentation, with networking opportunities before and after.
