The South Brunswick Public Library will offer a free 15-hour parenting course, “Parenting Workshop Series,” for parents and caregivers of children with special needs.
The course will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, Feb. 27, March 6, 13, 20, and 27. The series is a collaborative program with Autism New Jersey.
Additional library programs for families with special needs are also scheduled:
• Creative Craft: 4:30 p.m. Thursdays, March 4 and April 1, in Program Room 1. Registration is required.
• Read to a Therapy Dog: 4:30-5 p.m. Tuesdays, March 16 and 23; and April 13 and 27. Registration is required. Therapy dogs are eager to listen to beginner readers with challenges. Reading to a dog can help anyone who has difficulty reading to gain confidence and build their reading skills.
• Story Time & Games: 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 15. Registration is required. Enjoy stories and stacking games, which can improve hand-eye coordination, develop bilateral proficiency, as well as reading and math skills.
