Born in Brighton, England in 1967 AK Bennett is a graduate of both commercial and fine art schools – studying photography in New York and San Francisco. In 2000 he bought his first large format camera and it shifted his focus to creating larger and larger prints. His work also became less focused on capturing a particular subject and more concerned with capturing composition. He is continually drawn to remote places, seeking out patterns of light and dark in the landscape.
He has shown in New York and California and his work has been featured in several books and magazines. In October 2009 he was commissioned to photograph a series of landscape images for Spanish tourism. The photos will be featured at the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver.
