Has your child shown an interest in playing guitar, or your violinist expressed an interest in playing in a string ensemble? Does your aspiring thespian want to learn how and why people get cast? Cornerstone Music Studios is pleased to offer the following group classes that are sure to appeal to the artist in everyone.
Auditioning & Staging for the Song — Our Broadway, NYC and Classically trained voice coach will provide students the tools to vocally prepare music of many styles, genres and cultures and explore stage exercises/movement for musical theater. Students will be coached on creating connections between artistic expression and stylistic elements of music, stage presence and audition etiquette. Students will walk into auditions with the confidence to shine like a star! Good for school/college auditions!
String Ensemble Program — The String Instrument Ensemble Program will offer lessons for beginning and intermediate violinists, violists, and cellists. String students will learn classical music and the musical skills necessary to play with other musicians. We hope to establish a community string ensemble program that will play at local events and eventually participate with the NJ Youth Symphony Orchestra program.
Rock Band — Teachers and coaches will teach young musicians to come together and dominate the stage as they learn how to chart songs and play in a band setting! Students will work in a group environment and further develop their musicality and knowledge of music basics such as voicing, tempo, arrangements, and listening skills. Singers, guitarists, drummers and pianists are welcome! Rock show on last day of class!
Guitar Gladiators — Small group lessons are offered for all types of guitarists (acoustic, electric). This class is for the beginner or intermediate guitar student. Students will learn how to read in standard 1st position notation, play chords, and a wide variety of music from rock to classical.
Two sessions will be offered for each class with Session A running from March 15th though April 30th, and Session B running from May 3rd through June 11th.
