CENTRAL JERSEY: Area school board candidates file petitions

   With the deadline having passed Monday afternoon, the candidates are set for a number of area school board races.
   The Robbinsville Township School District has four candidates running for three open seats.
   Incumbent board President Mike Reca along with board member Thomas Halm are looking for additional three-year terms. Also on the ballot is Anthony Ciaccio, son of Township Councilwoman Christine Ciaccio, and Richard Kasper. Mr. Kasper has run for a spot on the board at least twice before in 2003 and 2004.
   Board Vice President Lainie Potter will not be running for an additional term, according to the district board secretary.
   In the Upper Freehold Regional School District, there are four open seats, two for Allentown residents and two for Upper Freehold Township residents.
   On the ballot for the Allentown seats are incumbent board member Douglas Anthony and Gregg Barkley.
   Three people are running for the two open Upper Freehold seats.
   Incumbent board members Joseph Calvitti and Patricia Hogan are running to keep their seats. They are being challenged by Steven Gagliardi.
   In the Millstone Township School District, there are only three board members running unopposed for four open seats.
   They are David Depinho, Margaret Gordon and Kevin McGovern.
   Mr. McGovern is running to fill a one-year vacancy created by the resignation of board member Holly Dietz, according to the district board secretary.
   In the Plumsted Township School District, three candidates are running for two open seats.
   Incumbent board member Lawrence Downs is being challenged by Paul Milligan and Garrett Midgett III.
   Board member Anthony O’Donnell is not running for reelection, according to the district board secretary.
   The election is set to be held April 20.
