‘Wax Museum’


In honor of Black History Month, students at John Adams Elementary School in North Brunswick researched the lives of famous black Americans and then portrayed those historical figures during a mock “Wax Museum” on Feb. 25. From top: Second-grader Chiraag Sindhia, portraying Matthew Henson, an African American explorer of the North Pole in the early 1900s, waits to tell his story. Second-grader Anthony Cottrell, portraying Guion Bluford, a former NASA astronaut, reads his biography to Shannon Gabriel. Second-grader Lauren Taylor, portraying Mary Eliza Mahoney, the first African American registered nurse, reads her biography to her father, Greg.
