FREEHOLD — Ten candidates will vie for five seats on the Freehold Borough K-8 School District Board of Education in the April 20 school election.
Three three-year terms, one two-year term and one one-year term will be on the ballot.
According to information provided by school district administrators, the following individuals are running for the three available three-year terms: Annette Jordan, Audrey Evans, Kevin Tennant, Tamara Tobin, Bruce Patrick, Thomas Parke and Susan Grietz.
Jordan and Evans are current members of the school board.
Running unopposed for the available twoyear term is Ron Reich.
Reich was defeated in his bid for re-election to the board in April 2009. He was appointed to the board in July 2009 after a sitting member resigned from the panel. Reich is now seeking to complete the term to which he was appointed.
Running for the one available one-year term are Daniel Xavier and Roxanne Payne.
Xavier was appointed to the board in October 2009 after a sitting member resigned from the panel. Xavier is now seeking to complete the term to which he was appointed.
The board is scheduled to adopt a tentative budget for the 2010-11 school year on March 22. A public hearing will be held on the school budget on March 29.
