Monmouth Torah Links invites the Jewish community to “An Evening of Sushi and Spirit,” featuring Rebbetzin Esther Jungreis, at 7:30 p.m. April 18 at the Marlboro Fire Company, Route 79, Marlboro. Jungreis is a world-renowned lecturer and has authored four best-selling books, including her latest release “Life Is a Test.” A sushi buffet will precede the presentation. Brookdale Computer Users Group (BCUG) will present the works of art done by members of BCUG’s graphics workshop group throughout the month of March at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters, 125 Symmes Drive, Manalapan. A spaghetti dinner will be offered by Boy Scout Troop 180 on March 13 in the building behind the Old Tennent Church, Tennent Road, Manalapan. The American Association of UniversityWomen’s Freehold Chapter will feature Valerie Buickerood on March 18 as its guest speaker. Buickerood is the director of major gifts for the Alice Paul Institute and will discuss Alice Paul, who led the fight for women’s suffrage and championed equal rights for women through most of the 20th century. “Veggie Kids,” a Junior Chef Cooking Club class for children 8-12 years of age, will be offered from 10:30-11:30 a.m. March 20 at CentraState’s Star and Barry Tobias Health Awareness Center, Freehold Township. Participants will have hands-on fun preparing and sampling delicious vegetarian dishes, and will then take home the recipes to try in their own kitchens. The Freehold Art Society will hold a meeting and demonstration at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters, 125 Symmes Drive, Manalapan, at 7 p.m. March 24. Art Nelson, an Oakhurst artist, will use a video to show the techniques he uses to create sculptures from underwater videos he has taken of wrecks during dives. Dorothy Kaplan will tell the story of “The Wooden Suitcase and How It Got From Riga, Latvia, to Iowa City, Iowa, in 1923,” based on her brother’s memoirs.
