FRHSD has one contested race

There will be one contested election in the Freehold Regional High School District in the April 20 school election. Three available three-year terms will be on the ballot.

The board has nine members: one each from Colts Neck, Englishtown, Farmingdale, Freehold Borough, Freehold Township, Manalapan and Marlboro, and two representatives from Howell.

The district operates six high schools with a total enrollment of about 11,700 students.

Ronald Lawson of Howell, the current president of the FRHSD Board of Education, is running for re-election and is being challenged by Michael C. Dymyd. According to the board’s voting system, residents of Howell and Farmingdale will vote for the person they want to represent Howell.

Board member Kathie Lavin of Farmingdale is running unopposed to retain her seat. According to the board’s voting system, residents of Howell and Farmingdale will vote for Lavin.

Board member Elizabeth Canario of Englishtown is running unopposed to retain her seat. According to the board’s voting system, residents of Englishtown and Manalapan will vote for Canario.
