Gym’s anniversary events help Brennan foundation

JACKSON — Supergym of Jackson, a full-service health club at the corner of County Line and New Prospect roads, has announced that all of the activities for its anniversary party on March 27 will benefit the Brennan Stands Alone Foundation.

The Brennan Stands Alone Foundation is organized to assist current and former members of the U.S. armed forces who have been injured in the line of duty, and their families.

“We are pleased to partner with the Brennan Stands Alone Foundation for all of our day’s special events. These events are open to anyone in our community and give us all a chance to do something positive for not only ourselves, but our loved ones who have served us in the military as well,” said Supergym manager Heidi Minikes.

The day’s festivities will begin with a series of 30-minute Supergym Survivor classes beginning at 8:30 a.m. and running until noon. Members and non-members are invited to participate in classes ranging from body sculpting and cardio kickboxing to hot iron and abs. Those who “survive” six classes will be put into a special prize drawing, according to a press release.

Gaspari Nutrition is sponsoring Supergym’s first bench press competition beginning at 9 a.m. Registration is $10 and pre-registration at the gym is recommended. Prizes will be awarded in each weight category.

Individuals who are looking to lose weight or challenge themselves will be interested in Supergym’s “Dark Side of the Rainbow” class. This class — over two hours — will allow individuals or groups to ride on a variety of equipment as spinning instructors tour them through “The Wizard of Oz” film with a soundtrack provided by Pink Floyd’s classic album “Dark Side of the Moon.”

A $10 donation per participant is required to reserve a place in the class, with all proceeds benefiting the Brennan Stands Alone Foundation.

Danielle Ippolito will present a special zumba children’s class at noon. Parents are encouraged to come and work out while their children join the zumba party and move and grove while toning and burning calories. This special 45-minute class is open to children of all ages and pre-registration is suggested. A $5 donation per participant will reserve a child’s spot in class and help wounded U.S. veterans and their families as well.

“Even if one of our events is not for you, people are still welcome to come and work out for free, and speak with the people from the foundation to learn more about what they can do to help,” said Supergym owner Piper Williams. “There is going to be a great amount of positive energy for the benefit and it is something you won’t want to miss.”

Supergym, 400 South New Prospect Road, Jackson, will be open on March 27 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for members and nonmembers alike and will also offer half-price enrollment on that day as well. All money from the anniversary events will benefit the Brennan Stands Alone Foundation. For more information, call 732-534-4904.
