Free Motion Rehabilitation Center, 528 New Friendship Road, Howell, raised money over the past two months to help support the people of Haiti who were affected by the Jan. 12 earthquake. With the help of its patients, Free Motion Rehabilitation Center donated $200 to the American Red Cross. The donation will support the emergency relief and recovery efforts to help those people affected.

Freehold Raceway Mall, Freehold Township, has announced that four new stores — XXI Forever, H&M, Bare Escentuals and Arhaus Furniture — are expected to open their doors in the fall.
Forever 21 will close its current 6,200- square-foot location this fall and reopen as the larger-format XXI Forever in a new two-level, 33,000-square-foot store in the Nordstrom wing.
H&M, a global retailer with more than 2,000 stores in 37 countries, will open a 20,000-square-foot store on the upper level of the fashion wing. H&M at Freehold Raceway Mall will offer the latest fashions and modern basics for ladies, men, young ladies and young men.
Bare Escentuals will open an 884- square-foot store on the lower level of the Nordstrom wing, bringing the popular skin care and cosmetics retailer’s new store concept to Monmouth County shoppers.
Arhaus Furniture – a high-quality furniture and home design store which offers furniture and décor that uses natural materials and is globally inspired – will open its first New Jersey location at Freehold Raceway Mall. The store will be in a 12,700-squarefoot space in the center’s outdoor lifestyle center between Coldwater Creek and J.C. Penney.
Applewood Estates, CentraState’s active continuing care retirement community, now offers Lifelong Learning, a diverse educational program for residents to continue cultural and intellectual studies.
The current university-level, academic program is provided by Brookdale Community College. Classes, held on-site at Applewood Estates, began in late 2009 with an introductory course, “Where Did All Those Holiday Traditions Come From?” led by Christopher Bellitto, assistant professor of history, Kean University, and Rabbi Brooks Susman, Congregation Kol Am, Freehold. The course addressed the meanings and traditions of religious holidays. More than 85 residents took the course.
Meredith Winick, resident services supervisor, said the administration will continue to expand the curriculum in the future as a result of the positive response from the residents. She said this type of intellectual stimulation is believed to diminish the onset of depression, dementia and other ailments in seniors.
