Tonight (Friday), the Cranbury Coffee House, at 22 S. Main St. inside Fellowship Hall of the First Presbyterian Church of Cranbury, presents "An Evening of Cello-Driven Acoustic Rock" featuring the Alfred James Band, of Ardmore, Pa.
In 2007, the band won a Grammy songwriting contest and performed at two Grammy showcases. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.
Doors open at 6:30 and the show begins at 7 p.m. Refreshments are available at an additional cost.
Proceeds from the door and kitchen sales benefit the food pantry and deacons’ fund.

Are you a Princeton High School student still in need of community service hours?
The Cranbury Public Library has two upcoming events where you can earn time and help them out.
On Friday, April 23, and Saturday, April 24, the library will need assistance setting up, manning, and taking down the Friends of the Library Book Sale. There is a potential to earn eight to 12 community service hours.
On May 8, the library will need help at its Drug Free Fair booth.

Spend an evening enjoying high energy jazz when the award winning PHS Studio Band is the opening act for the internationally renowned Cherry Poppin’ Daddies at the third-annual Princeton Jazz Festival.
The festival will be held Saturday, April 17, at 8 p.m. in the PHS Performing Arts Center.
Tickets are $25, which includes entrance to the all-day high school and middle school jazz festival.

The Friends of the Cranbury Public Library presents "Old Books – Trash or Treasure?" on Friday, April 16, at 7:30 p.m. in the library.
Larry and Andrew Feldman of the Cranbury Bookworm will talk about the value of old books.
Bring a treasure from your bookshelf and get an informal opinion of its monetary worth.
Admission is free for Friends members and $5 for all others. Or, join the Friends that evening and receive free admission!
Collectible books will be for sale that evening.
The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Cranbury Public Library.
A digital photo editing class will be held at the library on Tuesday, April 13, from 6-8 p.m.
Learn about some of the free tools you can use to spruce up your digital pictures.
The class will cover some photo-editing options and free Web sites you can use.
Students should be familiar with a computer mouse and are strongly encouraged to bring their digital camera and the associated cables and wires it came with.

The deadline of April 15 is approaching for the Cranbury Lions Club annual scholarships and award.
The Dr. David C. Tudor Memorial Scholarship and the Todd M. Beamer Memorial Scholarship are open to graduating seniors who live in Cranbury.

The Stan Thomas Community Service Award is an award for students ages 12 to 18 who exhibit the spirit of community service.
Parents, school staff, youth leaders and neighbors can nominate a student for this award.
