The Friends of the Milltown Public Library will hold its annual Book Sale 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. May 1 at the library, 20 W. Church St.
Hardcovers, paperbacks, magazines, DVDs and videos will be available for purchase. Paperbacks and children’s books will sell for 25 cents each; hardcovers, 50 cents; coffee-table books, large cookbooks and videos, as marked. The merchandise has been donated and is in good condition.
The Friends is a nonprofit group that sponsors various fundraising events, including book sales, flea markets and silent auctions, to raise money for library services and programming not included in the library budget. The group has provided the library with five computers, bookshelves, meeting-room tables, a projector system and projection screen for film nights and Wii use, and has sponsored library events including children’s summer-reading programs.
In addition to buying at the upcoming Book Sale, interested individualsmay donate to the Friends by searching the Web for Goodsearch/ Goodshop and then logging on to www.goodsearch.com. The shopping site will donate 1 cent to the Friends for every Web search. When supporters shop online via www.goodshop.com, participating retailers also will make donations to the Friends; supporters should enter Friends of the Milltown Public Library as the organization for which they are shopping and then click on verify to begin.
