Kimball Closet moves to new space in Jackson

JACKSON — Kimball Closet, one of three thrift shops that operate in support of Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood, has moved to a spacious new location in Jackson’s Prospect Plaza.

Located at 255 South New Prospect Road in Jackson, Kimball Closet has more than doubled in size from its prior location — growing from 1,200 square feet to 3,000 square feet, according to a press release.

The lure of finding a wonderful bargain or an unusual item draws throngs of customers weekly to thrift shops such as Kimball Closet, which has raised more than $100,000 to benefit Kimball Medical Center programs and services since opening its doors in Jackson in December 2003.

Kimball Closet, which is open Monday through Saturday from 10 am. to 4 p.m. and is totally staffed by volunteers, features general merchandise, including clothing, furniture and accessories, small appliances, books and household items.

The thrift shop operates strictly on donations and does not sell items on consignment. Tax receipts can be prepared for donations.

Kimball Closet accepts donations between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Saturday. To learn more about Kimball Closet, or to inquire about making a donation, call 732-886-5972.
