The Chris Cooper Scholarship Fund will hold its seventh annual Benefit Dinner and Dance 7 p.m.-midnight April 30 at Palms Plaza Caterers, Route 34, Old Bridge.
This year’s theme is “The Roaring Twenties.” Prizes will be awarded for best costume. There also will be a comedy show featuring Jeff P., a buffet dinner, dancing, an open bar and raffles.
The event will raise money for the scholarship fund, named in honor of Cooper, a 1999 Old Bridge High School (OBHS) graduate who pitched for the high school baseball team and died as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., in 2003. Proceeds will help an eligible OBHS boys baseball player and an OBHS girls softball player attend college. Recipients are selected based on leadership, good sportsmanship, playing ability and a love of the game.
Tickets cost $70 per person. For more information and to reserve, call 732-721-9045 or log on to www.coopsta.com.
