KEYPORT — The Keyport Historical Society will open in May for the 2010 season, which will include monthly Monday night events, special programs, an art show, a “trash and treasure” flea market and more.
Monday, May 3, at 7:30 p.m., “Boardwalks of New Jersey” will be presented by The Beach Bums.
Saturday, May 22, the museum will be open to the public during the dedication of Waterfront Park.
Sunday, May 30, 1- 4 p.m., will be Keyport’s Steamboat Dock Museum season opening. Exhibits include Keyport’s history of steamboats, Aeromarine plane manufacturing and oystering.
Monday, June 7, 7:30 p.m., “Down at the Shore” program featuring vintage swimwear from Victorian times to the 1930s, featuring Jackie LaPolla.
Saturday, June 12, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., “trash and treasure” flea market extravaganza held during Keyport’s townwide yard sale. Call for reservations. Lunch, desserts and refreshments will be available.
Monday, July 5, 7:30 p.m., “Ghosts in Keyport” presentation by Keyport’s Tabitha Bailey.
Saturday, July 17, art show at the museum.
Monday, Aug. 2, 7:30 p.m., “Birds of the Bayshore” presented by Pete Massas.
Light desserts and refreshments will be available after the Monday Night presentations. Admission is free. Museum hours are 1-4 p.m. Sundays, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays. For information, call 732-739- 6390.
