Edison Elks installs officers for 2010-11

The Edison Elks Lodge 2487 recently held its Installation of Officers for the fraternal year 2010-11.

The following officers were installed: Exalted Ruler Howard Parusa, Leading Knight Kim Farinick; Loyal Knight David R. Krempa, Past Exalted Ruler (PER) Lecturing Knight Rich Maxwell; Tiler Bob Dice, secretary Nancy Dunham, treasurer Micheal O’Copnnor, Esquier Ed DeBaker, Chaplain Joan Gage, Inner Guard Helen Holeman, Justice Ken Vercammen and PER Scott Dunham, fiveyear trustee.

The Ladies Auxiliary was also installed. The following officers were installed: President Gloria Tighe, First Vice President Joy Hoffman, Second Vice President Bobbie Cies, Corresponding Secretary Chris Gregis, Historian Rosemary Stevenson, Recording Secretary Chris Parusa, Treasurer Nina Berner, Flag Bearer Jessica La Grasso, Chaplain Marylou Martinkovic, Guard Peggy Shipman, three-year trustee Fran McDonnell, twoyear trustee Barbara Durkin and one-year trustee Marge Santos.

The Elk of the Year Award was presented to Cliff Lenox, PDD, and the Officer of the Year was presented to Kim Farinick.

Ed DeBaker and Howie Parusa were presented the Oustanding Service Commendation Award. Jack Hughes and Marybeth Garrett were presented the State President’s Award.

The Edison Elks has provided over 35 years of service to the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and the community of Edison. The Elks raise funds to assist veterans, special children, youth and nonprofit groups in the community.
