Freehold Gymnastics Club (FGC), formerly known as The Gymnastic Club, has reopened after completing a $150,000 renovation. The gym has undergone a total refurbishment, including the installation of a central air conditioning system.
“The transformation is amazing,” said owner Barbara Monticello. “In just a few short weeks, the gym has a completely new look. We changed the gym floor layout, installed a new 30-foot tumble track and new trampoline, and constructed a new party room, waiting area and business office.”
FGC offers classes Monday through Saturday for children ranging from 18 months through teen. The club sponsors a Jersey Optional Gymnastics Association competitive team, USAG team, as well as pre-team and tumbling classes. Summer camp sessions will run weekly from June 28 through Aug. 26.
In addition, this year the club will offer two weeks of “boot camp” training for team members, featuring guest instructors.
“Our new facility reflects our commitment to operating a first-class training center,” said co-owner Pru Costello. “Our JOGA team has performed at a very high level over the past several years, and we just completed one of our most successful competitive seasons ever. Our Level 6 team was the No. 1 ranked team among our local competitors, and captured seven first-place wins this year.”
At the state competition, Sophie Garito, 11, of Colts Neck, captured third place in uneven bars in the Level 5 division, while Arah Godbole, 11, of Freehold, captured third place overall in the Level 6 division.
The Freehold Gymnastic Club is at 4345 Route 9 North in the Pond Road Shopping Center in Freehold Township. For additional information about classes, camp or birthday parties, contact the club at 732-294-9559 or visit www.gymnasticsclubnj.com.
