Mr. Maurer, 85, of the Morganville section of Marlboro, died April 16, 2010, at Bayshore Convalescent Center, Holmdel. He was an associate member of the Morganville Volunteer Fire Company for 25 years, and a member of both the St. Clement Seniors Club and the St. Gabriel Friendship Club for 20 years. He served in the United States Marine Corp during World War II and was a member of the Marine Corp League, Freehold. Mr. Maurer is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ann Maurer; a son and daughter-inlaw, Mark and Joann Maurer; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at the Waitt-Nelms Funeral Home, Morganville, followed by interment at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover Burlington County.
