‘Art on Paper,” a new exhibition at the Monmouth Museum, features 75 artworks in a range of paper-based media including etchings, monoprints and limited-edition original prints, artist books, collage, drawings and paintings on paper, photographs and wallmounted paper sculpture.
Selecting juror Bruce Waldman is on the faculty of the School of Visual Arts and a director of the New York Society of Etchers.
“This exhibition represents a remarkable kaleidoscope of varying techniques, approaches and personal visions, all falling under the general category of works on paper,” Waldman said in a press release. “In jurying and selecting the work for this exhibition, I was amazed at the scope and range of these differing sensibilities and techniques. The common thread connecting all of the work is the consistent high quality maintained throughout.”
“Art on Paper” runs through June 27 at the Monmouth Museum, which is on the Brookdale Community College campus in Lincroft. Museum Main Gallery and Nilson Gallery hours are: Tuesday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sunday, 1-5 p.m. Admission is $7 per person; there is no charge for museum members, Brookdale staff and students with a valid I.D., and children under 2 years of age.
