In honor of the 50th Anniversary of the Sister Cities relationship between New Brunswick and Tsuruoka, Japan, The New Brunswick Jazz Project presents The Chris Brown Quartet with special guest bassist, Yoshi Waki, at Catherine Lombardi Restaurant, 3 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick. May 12, 2010. 9PM – 12AM
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow said “Music is the universal language of mankind,” and although Jazz is an original American art form, it has lived up to and far beyond Longfellow’s quote and has become a musically inclusive, living, global expression of creativity, innovation and connection.
A delegation of visitors from Tsuruoka, Japan and The New Brunswick Sister Cities Program will celebrate a half century of cultural and educational exchange between the two cities in New Brunswick on May 12, 2010. A variety of events and programs are planned, including a dinner at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 2 Albany Street. After the dinner, The New Brunswick Jazz Project will present Rutgers/Mason Gross Professor and Director of the Rutgers Summer Jazz Institute, Chris Brown’s quartet in a free performance at Catherine Lombardi Restaurant, 3 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, 9PM n12AM.
The New Brunswick Jazz Project is dedicated not only to bringing great jazz to Central New Jersey, but also to promoting and supporting the local cultural and arts community.
