Old Towne Colts Neck returns for third year

COLTS NECK — The Colts Neck Business Association (CNBA) will hold its third annual Olde Towne Colts Neck event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 5, along the Route 34 business corridor.

Raymond Shebell, president of the CNBA, said the family-friendly event is designed to showcase the business community for residents and tourists.

“There are many fine restaurants, shops and services located along the Route 34 corridor,’’ Shebell said. “We want people to come out and see for themselves all that Colts Neck has to offer.”

Vicky DeRosa, chairwoman of the Olde Towne Colts Neck Planning Committee, said one of the highlights of the event is a classic car show. Trump National Golf Course, Colts Neck, has donated a foursome golf package worth $1,700 for the first-place winner of the car show.

The scavenger hunt is another big draw with big prizes. All players must visit each store listed on the game board and answer a question about the business by finding the answer in the store or talking to the owner. The first 50 people who complete the challenge will receive a goodie bag.

Everyone who fills out the game board will be entered in the grand-prize drawing. Adult prizes include a spa membership, gift certificates to local restaurants and gift baskets. Children can win an ice cream party, toys and gift certificates.

Game boards will be available at the CNBA information booths, located at each of the four event hubs, and at participating stores.

There will also be sidewalk sales, food vendors, live music, a stilt-walker, face painting and pony rides.

The CNBA has increased the number of shuttle buses this year from three to four in an effort to quickly transport people from the designated parking lots to the four hubs.

Vicky DeRosa is chairwoman of the planning committee. The members are Sal Barbagallo, Jennifer Barbieri, Jeani Barnes, Renee Berube, Joe Brando, Veronica DeMartino, Don Norkus, Nina Rizzo, Robin Sayko, Cynthia Soto, George Stavropoulos, Mike Tormey, Raymond Shebell, Monica Vermuelen and Mike Wilbert.
