Barbara DeAngelis of the Alzheimer’s Association will be the guest speaker at the next meeting of the Reformed Church Home Caregiver’s Support Group set for 2-3:15 p.m. May 18 at the home, 1990 Route 18 north, Old Bridge.
DeAngelis will offer a workshop titled “Communication: The Key To Understanding Behaviors.” Participants will learn communication techniques to avoid unnecessary arguments and how to effectively respond to repetitive actions, recognition difficulties and agitated feelings.
All unpaid caregivers are invited to attend. Sessions are offered free of charge, but registration is required by calling 732- 607-9230. Refreshments will be served.
The Rev. Barbara Jensen and Lora Speiser of Care Alternatives Hospice will be the meeting’s facilitators.
