Pedals for Progress considered a success

As co-coordinators for the 12th annual South Brunswick Pedals for Progress collection, Devon Smith and I would like to thank the members of our most generous community for making Saturday, June 5, a very special day.

Because of the teamwork provided by the South Brunswick High School custodial staff, teachers of the SBEA, middle school and high school students, the South Brunswick Police Department and local volunteers, we collected and processed 145 bikes, eight sewing machines, 25 pounds of soccer equipment and $1,500 for shipping items.

In a year when so many are facing difficult times, this community has once again exceeded expectations. The generous nature of the community was recently shown with the passage of the school budget, and it has once again demonstrated its caring spirit. The items collected will be sent to Honduras this year. Thanks again to all.
