Princeton Resident Earns Henley Regatta Win
Princeton resident Nick Jordan helped hisHarvard heavyweight varsity eight edge Oxford Brookes and Oxford University to capture the Ladies’ Challenge Plate at the 2010 Henley Royal Regatta. The Crimson won a tight race in 6:50 and held off the Oxford Brookes/Oxford University crew for a three-seat margin of victory at the finish line. The Henley title caps a season full of championships for Harvard, which previously won their 26th Eastern Sprints title and Ivy League crown and swept the 145th annual Harvard/Yale Regatta. Competing for Harvard were First Team All-Ivy honorees coxswain Kelly Evans, stroke Patrick Lapage, Matt Edstein, Nick Jordan, David Wakulich, Sam O’Connor, Michael DiSanto, Anthony Locke and bowmanBlake Pucsek.
Nicholas Jordan was one of five sophomores in the 2009-10 Crimson heavyweight varsity eight that helped theHarvard Men’s Crew earn a third place national ranking and capture the Rowe Cup for best team performance at Eastern Sprints. Jordan is continuing to row this summer as a member of the USA Under-23 sweeps team, which is preparing at the Chula Vista Olympic Training Center in California for the 2010 Worlds U23 Championships being held in Brest, Belarus July 22-25. This is the third summer that Jordan has been selected to row on a national team. Previously Jordan rowed to a 3rd place finish in 2008 Junior Worlds Championships in Austria and a 5th place finish in 2007 Junior Worlds in Beijing as part of the JM8 National Team.
