Kelsey Theatre Announces Auditions for Three Fall Productions

West Windsor, N.J. – Three theater companies that will perform at Mercer County Community College this fall have announced audition dates and details. All auditions take place on MCCC’s West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. Auditions for “Chess,” a musical masterwork by Tim Rice and the composing duo of Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, will be held Wednesday, July 28 and Thursday, July 29. Presented by Pierrot Productions, the cast includes 15 featured actors, all of whom must have strong singing voices. Applicants are asked to present a song from any stage musical, deliver a 1-3 minute monologue, and be prepared for basic movement. Appointments are required and may be scheduled by e-mailing [email protected]. The show comes to Kelsey Theatre for six performances Oct. 15, 16, 17, 22, 23 and 24.
Auditions for “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” to be presented by Playful Theatre Productions and directed by Frank Ferrara, are scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 18, 7 to 10 p.m., and Saturday, Aug. 21, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nine actors are sought for this production. (Actors must be at least 18 years old.) All performers should be comfortable with comedy, including light improvisation, and must be strong singers. Auditioners are asked to bring a copy of their theatrical resume and a headshot. Auditions for “Annie Get Your Gun,” to be presented by The Yardley Players, will be held Saturday and Sunday, August 28 and 29, from 12 noon to 4 p.m. Actors for both principal and ensembles roles are sought, including children ages 7 and up. Appointments are required and may be made by calling Marge Swider at 215-968-1904. (Alternative arrangements will be made for those with vacation conflicts.) The show will be performed November 19-28, with rehearsals to begin Sept. 12.
