SOUTH BRUNSWICK: Willows Swim Club team is undefeated

   The Willows swim team concluded its undefeated 2010 season with a busy week.
   Tuesday, Aug. 3, and Wednesday, Aug. 4, 25 Willows swimmers with qualifying times traveled to Frog Hollow Swim Club in South Amboy, New Jersey.
   Swimmers from 28 clubs vied to earn the top six spots in the preliminary round, thus making it into the finals later Wednesday evening.
   The Willows had eight swimmers earn medals. Gessica Charniga earned a gold medal while two other Willows swimmers earned multiple medals.
   In addition, two relay teams earned medals.
   In the 13- to 18-year-old girls 200-meter medley relay, Christina Napoli, Emily Charniga, Abby Weingarten and Gessica earned second place while in the 13- to 18-year-old boys 200-meter free relay, Harrison Kudwitt, Gregory Toma, Ryan Finch and Andrew Kudwitt earned third place.
   The next day, the Willows swim team was ere honored for its accomplishments with an end-of-season banquet at the Willows Swim Club.
   During the season, five records were broken. The record-breakers earned plaques for their achievements. In addition, the coaches awarded trophies in three categories, high point, most improved and a coaches award. The team also honored two outgoing seniors, Abby and Danielle Bartolotta.

   Emily — fourth, 13/14 100 free, 1:06.66; 2nd, 13/14 100 breast, 1:21.07; second, 13/18 200 medley relay, 2:16.83.
   Gessica — fourth, 15/18 200 free, 2:18.59; 1st, 15/18 100 free, 1:02.50; second, 13/18 200 medley relay, 2:16.83.
   Christina — second, 13/18 200 medley relay, 2:16.83.
   Abby — second, 13/18 200 medley relay, 2:16.83.

   Ryan — third, 13/18 200 free relay, 1:50.72.
   Harrison — fourth, 13/14 100 free, 1:03.24; fourth, 13/14 100 breast, 1:21.86; third, 13/18 200 free relay, 1:50.72.
   Andrew — third, 13/18 200 free relay, 1:50.72.
   Gregory — third, 13/18 200 free relay, 1:50.72.
