The Hopewell Township Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring a community trip to the Wheaton Arts & Cultural Center on Sept. 16.
Located in Millville, Wheaton Arts (formerly Wheaton Village) is home to the Museum of American Glass, which houses one of the most comprehensive collections of American glass with over 7,000 objects on display in sunlit galleries.
The full-day package will include a private tour of the Museum of American Glass, and a visit to the artist studios to watch professional artisans demonstrating glass blowing techniques, pottery skills, and woodcarving. The package also includes lunch and time on your own to visit the museum stores, including the General Store, Christmas Shop, Brownstone Emporium and the Arthur Gorham Paperweight shop.
Cost is $55 and includes motor coach transportation, admission, private tour and lunch. The trip departs from Independence Park at 8 a.m. and returns at 5 p.m.
Call the Recreation Department to register at 737-3753, or visit in-person at the Hopewell Township Municipal Building. The office is open weekdays from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
