Three Trenton residents were charged after a driver was stopped Aug. 7 on I-195 for allegedly tailgating and failing to maintain a lane. Through an investigation and with the assistance of a K-9, it was determined that narcotics were in the vehicle and the driver was under the influence of narcotics, police said.
Krystal Kreyling, 23, of Trenton, was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while suspended and numerous other motor vehicle offenses. She was turned over to Trenton police because of multiple warrants from that municipality.
Ariel Vanderveer, 19, of Trenton, was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute. His bail was set $25,000 and he was taken to the Mercer County Workhouse.
Hector Flores, 37, of Trenton, was released on his own recognizance after being turned over to Camden police because of multiple warrants there.
Luis Marin-Castro, 35, of Hamilton, and Victor Marin, 29, both of Hamilton, were charged Friday with aggravated assault and terroristic threats.
Police said they responded to Applegate Drive for a report of an assault in progress. Upon arrival, they said they spoke with an uninjured victim who reported two males were threatening him with a belt and a tire wheel. After a description of the suspects and their vehicle was put out over the radio, police said they located a vehicle matching the description at the Grainger Warehouse on Applegate Drive along with the two men. The fight was reportedly over a female friend.
Police were looking for Eugene Williams, 50, with a last known address of Mt. Holly, after he allegedly stole a vehicle from Treats Garage and led then on a chase Aug. 12.
Police said they were told a man had requested to get his vehicle out of impound. He was denied the release, then he requested access to the vehicle so that he could retrieve belongings. Once in the vehicle, he allegedly started the engine and sped out of the yard nearly striking an employee.
At the intersection of Routes 130 and 33, an officer saw the vehicle and attempted to stop it. At that time the driver accelerated and refused to pull over, police said. At this time two officers pursued the vehicle south through Hamilton and in to Bordentown. Just prior to entering Mansfield, they terminated the pursuit because of the possible danger involved. The investigation was continuing and an arrest was expected this week.
Mr. Williams is charged with eluding, aggravated assault, weapons offenses, theft of services, assault with a motor vehicle and theft of auto.
Nyesa Richardson, 24, of Howell was charged Aug. 11 with eluding police, child endangerment and numerous traffic violations after allegedly leading police on a chase with two small children in her car.
Police said they saw a vehicle at 6:17 p.m. traveling west on I-195, near exit 7, traveling above the posted speed limit, and attempted to pull the vehicle over. According to police:
The defendant refused to pull over and continued west on I-195. In the area of exit #3 Hamilton Police joined the pursuit. At exit #1 the defendant exited north and continued on I-295. At exit 65B the defendant exited onto Sloan Avenue. The defendant then pulled onto American Metro Boulevard where she pulled into a parking spot and gave up without incident.
Once stopped, police saw two young children in the vehicle, age 5 and an infant.
Bail was set at $20,000, and Ms. Richardson was taken to the Mercer County Workhouse. The children were placed in the custody of a family member.
Gustavo Montoya, 19, of Dover, was charged Aug. 12 with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said the driver of an eastbound vehicle on I-195 failed to move over for a patrol car that was already on a traffic stop, so a patrolman followed the vehicle and stopped it at 1:38 p.m. When the officer approached the vehicle, he detected the odor of burnt marijuana, police said.
An unidentified 25-year-old man from Trenton who police said was suffering from mental disorders was charged Aug. 9 with disorderly conduct and handed over to the Helen Fuld Crisis Center.
Police said they responded to the area of Foxmoor Shopping Center for a reported suspicious male with a knife at 8:07 a.m. Upon arrival, they said they located a man sitting on the ground near 1015 Washington Blvd. who was in possession of a knife.
Jonathan Runyon, 19, of East Windsor, was charged with burglary and theft in connection with two vehicle break-ins in Windsor. At press time he remained at large.
Police said they responded to the area of School Drive on Aug. 8. The victim said someone entered her vehicle between 9 p.m. and 9:30 a.m. and took numerous gift cards, a driver’s license, Social Security card and an insurance card.
Police also responded to the area of South Main Street about 8 p.m. Aug. 10. The victim reported that someone had entered her vehicle and removed a GPS unit and a credit card.
With assistance of East Windsor police, Mr. Runyon was identified as a suspect. His bail was set at $15,000.
Some of the stolen items were recovered and returned to a victim.
Loose change totaling $10, a pack of cigarettes and a handicap placard were reported stolen Aug. 10 from a vehicle parked on Barto Way.
