Chiropractor to help disabled at market

JAMESBURG – Dr. Debra DeMarco, a practicing chiropractor for 25 years, has seen her share of people struggling with pain and disability.
Most of those years she has had offices in Jamesburg, treating clients of all ages.
Now, with the goal of giving back to her community during a time when the number of uninsured citizens is skyrocketing, Dr. DeMarco is hosting a booth at the Jamesburg Farmers Market on Aug. 21, representing Community Access to Rehabilitation Equipment, a program of the nonprofit organization, Your ReSource, based in Ewing.
"It’s a merge of things I care very much about – recycling equipment to people who need it most, the town of Jamesburg and fresh local food available for healthy eating. It’s a win for everyone," Dr. DeMarco said.
Dr. DeMarco’s booth will be collecting all types of new or gently used durable medical equipment that can be brought to the market by individuals, such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes and crutches, portable ramps, shower chairs, reachers, shoehorns and devices that help with hearing, speech and vision impairments.
Also at the booth, Dr. DeMarco will facilitate appointments for offsite pickups of larger equipment, such as scooters, power chairs, commodes, lifts and hospital beds.
Other unopened medical supplies, such as adult diapers, bed liners, bandages and dressings and latex gloves may be donated.
Tax receipts will be available for donations.
The CARE program, based at 8 Industry Court in Ewing and on the web at www.YourReSourceNJ.org, is a registered nonprofit charitable organization. It is open to anyone in need of durable medical equipment who has no insurance or otherwise lacks access. A staff of volunteers helps recirculate donated supplies back to those who need them.
Your ReSource welcomes volunteers at its facility to repair equipment and staff the showroom.
