MONROE: Teenager charged with attempted murder

MONROE — A 17-year-old juvenile has been charged with the attempted murder of a 19-year-old man.
Monroe Township police said they were called about a large fight near Jeremy Court early Saturday morning at about 3 a.m. Police said they were told there may have been gunshots.
But when they arrived, no one was outside, police said.
A few hours later, at 9 a.m., officials at Capital Health System at Fuld called police to let them know a gunshot victim was being treated. The 19-year-old was being treated for two gunshot wounds from a small caliber handgun, police said.
Members of the Monroe detective bureau were called. Two days later, the 17-year-old was arrested and charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
Police would not release any further details such as the motive for the shooting, where the victim and suspect live, the condition of the victim and whether the suspect is male or female.
