– Go on a "Morning Meadow Tour" at Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve on Sept. 8, from 10-11 a.m. Amidst a sea of waving green grasses, native bees and butterflies gather nectar or pollen from milkweeds, mints, bonesets and coneflowers. Take a guided tour of the 5-acre meadow to learn about native warm-season grasses, meadow ecology and plant-pollinator interactions. This walk leaves from the Visitor Center. Preregistration is suggested (call 215-862-2924).
– Visitors are invited to take a guided tour of the Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve. Join a trained volunteer naturalist or staff person and discover nature together as you walk along trails that wind through woodlands, meadows, along a pond and Pidcock Creek. Enjoy native flowers, fruits and foliage in season and learn fun facts about their use. Find out about the Preserve’s history and habitats and hear fascinating stories about native plant and animal interactions while enjoying the beauty of the trails. Guided wildflower walks are held seven days a week through Oct. 31. Sign up for the tour in the Visitor Center upon arrival. The hour-long tour departs at 2 p.m., for a minimum of two visitors and weather permitting. The guided wildflower walk is included in the Preserve admission fee. Parking is free.
