CRANBURY — Get ready for this year’s Cranbury Day, which is scheduled for Saturday Sept. 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Unlike past years, however, there is no real theme, said Christine Thompson, co-organizer of Cranbury Day and president of the Cranbury Business and Professional Association, which sponsors the event.
”It’s just going to be a really fun day,” she said.
Special events at the street fair include the Helene Cody 5K run, which starts one hour earlier at 9 a.m., a Mummers string band walking down Main Street, and various performances and presentation throughout the day.
This includes performances by School House Lane, One Man Band with Ed Goldberg, and Princeton High School Girl Choir.
A presentation from Cranbury Gymnastics and a live in-studio performance from the American Repertory Ballet are also planned.
In addition, there is a variety of activities scheduled for all ages.
Visitors can partake in a scavenger hunt, entitled “What Happened to Wellington,” at the Cranbury Library.
Activities located at the Cranbury School area will include an inflatable moonwalk and slide sponsored by Cranbury Recreation, pony rides, and a make-your-own-T-shirt stand sponsored by Cranbury Arts Council.
Many events and displays will be set up along Main Street, including a Cranbury merchant sidewalk sale and tables manned by a variety of community organizations, students, artists and crafters, an antique car show, a dunk tank sponsored by the Cranbury Rescue Squad, clown face painting sponsored by Plant Food Chemical Company, and DJ Brett Gash sponsored by First Constitution Bank.
In addition, the Gourgaud Gallery located in Town Hall and the Cranbury Museum located at 4 Park Place E. will be open throughout the day.
Food will be available from Teddy’s, The Cranbury Inn, Cranbury Pizza, Cranbury Fire Company, Cranbury Lions, the Cranbury United Methodist Church Café, Ray Barnes and Kettle Corn.
All events will be located on North Main Street between Scott Avenue and Westminster Place.
