Saint Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 1900 Brooks Blvd., will sponsor an iconography workshop at the beginner’s level for adults Oct. 1-3.

Using a pre-prepared prototype, participants will learn techniques for faces, a shroud, gilding and background. The theology of iconography and specifically archangels will be presented.
The class will begin at 6 p.m. Oct. 1, and continue all day Oct. 2 and Oct. 3, from noon until finished. There is the opportunity to attend Saturday Vigil Liturgy (4 p.m.) or Sunday Liturgy (8:30 a.m. or 11 a.m.). The cost of $110 covers all supplies, including the gesso board, paints, brushes, gold leaf, polyurethane and miscellaneous supplies. A lunch will be provided on Saturday as well as coffee and tea on all days plus Danish for Saturday and morning and Sunday after liturgy.
