FLORENCE – Kohl’s Department Stores has put a new twist into fundraising by giving away $10 million to 20 schools nationwide in honor of Kohl’s Cares 10th anniversary via online voting of schools nationwide on Facebook.
Life Center Academy in Florence has taken this challenge to heart.
LCA has already made it to the top 35 in the nation. But 35th place isn’t good enough to win. They need to be in the top 20.
Now, Life Center Academy and its founding organization, the Fountain of Life Center, are asking the community for its help.
The organization is pointing to several of its programs as reason why it should be among the top 20: the Easter Passion Play and Christmas Spectacular, and the FOLC brought the American Veterans Traveling Tribute (The Wall) to its campus to honor veterans, military personnel and civic leaders.
The center is asking people in the surrounding communities, to help by voting online for Life Center Academy at www.lcanj.org.
LCA, a small Christian school representing several Burlington County churches and hundreds of families, receives no state or federal funding.
"This money would allow us to update our computer technology and science labs, provide new classrooms and interior renovations, and increase the amount of scholarships we can give to very deserving children who can’t afford to attend LCA," said the Rev. David Boudwin, business administrator. "We need the help of the communities we serve in order to win. It would be an answer to many prayers."
He invites people to go to the website www.lcanj.org for easy access to the Kohl’s contest for voting.
Life Center Academy has celebrated 35 years of Christian education for the families of the Delaware Valley.
Life Center Academy is located at 2045 Columbus Road, Florence. For a video and more information about the school, visit www.lcanj.org .
