The Manville Rescue Squad will lead off the festivities with a parade form Manville borough hall to the park in recognition of its 75th anniversary. There was a discussion regarding next year’s picnic and it was decided that it will be returning to Fridays and possibly in June instead of July but open to further consideration.

Hillsborough
Chapter A
Hillsborough Senior Citizens Chapter A meets the first Thursday of each month at 12:30 p.m. in the municipal building.
The heat has been relentless and the usual rain we get in this area seems to be going farther north though I’m glad we didn’t get those tornadoes. I believe we are having our local climate change. The burned lawns look like the end of August but Mother Nature will do her thing.
Our Anniversary Party held at the Polish Falcons turned out very well, few gripes as usual, but the plusses made it all worthwhile. We had a wonderful appetizer table with all sorts of veggies and cheeses and dips and at the end of this long table, a very large bowl of shrimp. This was not the tiny kind and the bowl stayed full for the first round and for seconds and more. You could make a meal of this treat but there was more to come. The servers were cheerful and made us feel special.
None of this great stuff happens by itself. We need to thank the people in the background who work to pull it all together. So often we take it all for granted. Albert Einstein
