Bordentown City announces the return of its Farmers Market with an expanded line-up of locally grown and organic produce as well as exciting activities. The Farmers Market will run every Wednesday this summer from 4 p.m. until dusk at the city parking lot located at Farnsworth and Railroad Avenues.
Springfield Fun Day
The 11th annual Sprinngfield Fun Day is 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, at Julistown Park featuring pony rides, bake sale, K-9 demonstration, DJ Chris Ermer of WBCB radio, pinate breaking, face painting , petting zoo, and music by Jeffrey Folmer. Sunday Softball

St. Andrew’s picnic
St. Andrew’s RC Church in Jobstown celebrates its 130th anniversary Sunday, Sept. 12 with a family Mass at the church at 10:30 a.m. and a picnic at the Springfield Veteran’s Memorial Park from 12 to 5 p.m. Picnic tickets are $5 a person; $25 for families of five or more. Ethnic festival
St. Nicholas Byzantine parish will hold its annual ethnic festival 12 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, at the St. Nicholas Picnic Grove, Norman Avenue, Roebling.The event will feature the music of John Stanky & the Coalminers and European food. Car show
The North Hanover Country Fair Car Show is Saturday, Sept. 18. It will be held at Green Acres park on Schoolhouse Road in North Hanover from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Trophies sponsored by Liberty Toyota will be awarded in many categories. Entries are limited to the first 100 cars to register. There will also be crafts, food and games. Showboat trip
The Knights of Columbus No. 570 is sponsoring a bus trip to the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City on Sunday, Sept. 5. The bus leaves St. Mary’s parking lot in Bordentown City at 4:30 p.m. for a four-hour stay at the casino. The cost is $25 a person and each person will receive $30 in slot play. Casino trip
Wednesday, Sept. 15 – The Florence Township Chapter of Deborah is sponsoring a second VIP bus to the Hilton Casino. VIP include deluxe seating, donuts, coffee/juice in the morning, and sandwiches, pepperoni/cheese tray and cold drinks on the return. The cost of $38 includes a coin return of $30 at the Hilton. The bus will leave from the Florence Township library at 9:30 a.m. and will leave from the Hilton at approximately 4 p.m. With only 36 seats to accommodate, call President Carol Eckman at 499-1927 to get in on a new fun way to visit the shore and casino.
Bus trip
Thursday, Sept. 30 –The Friends of St. Mary’s School is having a bus trip to the Penns Peak Restaurant in Jim Thorpe, Pa. to see King Henry and the Showmen’s presentation of "Back in the USA." From the Tex-Mex tunes along the border to the classic songs of Broadway, join the fun as King Henry and the entire cast take you on an imaginary tour of the musical hot spots of America. Lancaster trip
The Bordentown City Senior Citizens is sponsoring a bus trip to Lancaster on Friday, Oct. 8. It will be a day of shopping, fun and fellowship. We will be stopping at Green Dragon Farmers Market followed by shopping at Kitchen Kettle and then off to a smorgasbord dinner at Shady Maple where you will also have time for a little extra shopping in its gift shop. $1,000 Bingo
Every Wednesday night – St. Mary’s hosts a $1,000 bingo at 30 Elizabeth St., Bordentown City. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and games begin at 7 p.m. Food and refreshments will be served.
