MONROE – Saturday, Sept. 11, Monroe Township will host and "Evening of Remembrance" community candlelight memorial service.
It will be held at the Monroe Township Memorial Tree Park at Prospect Plains and Half Acre Road.
Music will begin at 6:30 p.m. with vocal selections by the Rising Stars Voice Studio. Ceremonies will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Local emergency service workers, veterans, vocalists and clergy of all faiths will take part in a candlelight service of prayer, speech and song, honoring those who died during the attacks and their families.
The park is the site of the Sept. 11 memorial, dedicated in 2002, which bears the names of the Monroe Township families touched by this tragedy.
This is a free event; the community is welcome to attend.
Parking and free shuttle service will be available from the municipal building beginning at 5:30 p.m. Those who need handicapped parking should use the shuttle service.
