Shore Dinner to benefit Ely Park’s beautification

Spearheaded by Friends of Ely Park Chairman Jim Hamilton, chefs from Hamilton’s Grill Room, Lambertville Station, No. Nine, and Pineville Tavern will band together to create a Shore Dinner on York Street on Sept. 12 at 4 p.m.
All proceeds will benefit the plan to revitalize four city blocks in Lambertville on North Main Street from Jefferson to Elm streets.
Just prior to the celebration, the community is invited to the unveiling of the firehouse sculpture (honoring the city’s firefighters) on North Main Street at 3 p.m.
In support of the beautification of Ely Park, local restaurants will join Jim Hamilton in creating a community block party event.
Tables and chairs will line York Street creating a festive atmosphere with music and a seafood dinner prepared by Chefs Christopher Beall (Lambertville Station), Andrew Abruzzese (Pineville Tavern), Matt Kane (No. Nine) and Mr. Hamilton (owner of Hamilton’s Grill Room).
Each chef will man a station to create a steamed dinner consisting of fresh lobster, mussels, clams, chicken, Jersey corn-on-the-cob and new potatoes.
A bevy of local restaurants including Tortuga, New Hope Diner, Giuseppe’s, Nicola’s, City Market, Café Galleria, Baker’s Treat, Inn of the Hawke and more will provide appetizers and desserts.
”Our mission is to transform Ely Memorial Park in Lambertville into a new and inviting centerpiece of community life, a destination for recreation, and a symbol of the city’s distinctive character,” said Mr. Hamilton.
Future plans for the park include a wrought iron and brick fence, seating areas, sculpture, murals, and a water fountain.
The plan also includes dense stands of indigenous trees and shrubs.
Tickets for the Shore Dinner, including beverages, appetizers and desserts, are $50 per person. Tickets are available at Homestead Farm Market and Hamilton’s Grill Room.
