Farmers market
Bordentown City holds its Farmers Market with an expanded line-up of locally grown and organic produce as well as exciting activities. The Farmers Market will run every Wednesday this summer from 4 p.m. until dusk at the city parking lot located at Farnsworth and Railroad avenues.
Yard Sale Day
Florence Township holds a townshipwide Yard Sale Day Saturday, Sept. 11, with Sept. 25 as the rain date. On this day all permits and fees will be suspended. Residents are encouraged to clean up, clean out and hold yard sales on this day. Help keep Florence a clean, attractive place in which to live and at the same time have fun and earn some extra money selling your unwanted treasures. Please note you are responsible for removing all signs posted for your yard sale.
Roebling tour
Noted Roebling historian, George Lengel, will guide visitors through the village of Roebling on Saturday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m. The early 20th century village of Roebling is one of the most intact company towns preserved in America all 767 original homes and businesses built for the Roebling factory workers still stand. The tour begins at the Roebling Museum and participants are encouraged to reserve a spot by calling the museum, 609-499-7200. Spaces are $7, adults and $6 for seniors and includes museum admission.
Truck blessings
Christ Church will hold a Blessing of the Fire Trucks Mass at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 11 followed by a barbeque to recognize Bordentown City firefighters and emergency personnel. Sunday Softball
Sunday Sunday Supper Softball from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Spring Street ballpark sponsored by Bordentown City Deputy Mayor Heather Cheesman. Held every Sunday. Bring snacks. Everybody gets a chance to play.
Car wash
The Bordentown Regional High School Field Hockey Team will hold a car wash on Sunday, Sept. 12, from 9 a.m. to noon at Russ Ayres Hot Dog Stand on Route 206 in Bordentown. The cost is $6.
St. Andrew’s picnic
St. Andrew’s RC Church in Jobstown celebrates its 130th anniversary Sunday, Sept. 12 with a family Mass at the church at 10:30 a.m. and a picnic at the Springfield Veteran’s Memorial Park from 12 to 5 p.m. Picnic tickets are $5 a person; $25 for families of five or more. Ethnic festival
St. Nicholas Byzantine parish will hold its annual ethnic festival 12 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, at the St. Nicholas Picnic Grove, Norman Avenue, Roebling.The event will feature the music of John Stanky & the Coalminers and European food. Parish Picnic
The St. Mary’s parish picnic will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, 1 5 p.m. at the CYO Day Camp in Yardville. Tickets are $15 per adult and $6 per child. Eentertainment will be provided by Black Tie DJ’s. Car show
The North Hanover Country Fair Car Show is Saturday, Sept. 18. It will be held at Green Acres park on Schoolhouse Road in North Hanover from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.. The Bordentown Elks, Lodge 2085, hosts a breakfast Sunday, Sept. 19, 8:30 to 11 a.m. at its lodge to benefit the programs of its Special Children’s Committee. The Bordentown Elks, Lodge 2085, Veteran’s Committee is hosting an all-you-can-eat pasta dinner, Sunday, Sept. 19, 4-6 p.m. at the lodge, 11 Amboy Road, Bordentown.
