Terence Thomas
The Plainsboro resident was named to the Buck Buchanan Award watch for the most outstanding defensive player in Division I Football Championship Subdivision. Thomas is a senior linebacker for the Villanova University football team, which opened its season against Temple on Friday.
Thomas, who started all 39 games of his career, was also named a pre-season Colonial Athletic Association first-team selection. Thomas led the Wildcats in tackles with 116 last year. He also totaled 8 1/2 sacks. He is a team captain this year..
Drew Lachenmayer
The West Windsor-Plainsboro South graduate was named a pre-season Colonial Athletic Association selection. Lachenmayer is a 6-2, 286-pound redshirt senior for the Richmond football team. He is the lone returning starter from the Spiders’ 2009 offensive line.
Lachenmayer entered Saturday’s season opener against Virginia with a 29-game starting streak. He started all 13 games last year at center for Richmond, which averaged 158.8 yards rushing per game and less than 1.5 sacks per game.

Judson Wallace
The 2005 Princeton University graduate has signed with C.B. Gran Cranaria to continue his professional basketball career in the 18-team Liga CBA, the top professional league in Spain. The three-time All-Ivy League honoree played two years for Eisbaeren Bremerhaven, then three years in the Italian League, the first with Pierrel Capo d’Orlando and the last two with Benetton Treviso.
Last year with Bennetton Treviso, Wallace averaged 9.1 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. He has averaged at least seven rebounds in all five of his professional seasons.
HIRED
Kelly Munroe
The Boston University graduate has been hired as an assistant coach for the Princeton University women’s lacrosse team. Munroe was an All-America at Boston, where she started the final three years. She was the 2008 America East Tournament Most Outstanding Player.
Munroe served as an assistant coach at American University last year. She helped the Eagles to the second best caused turnovers average in the Patriot League.
COLLEGE
Kelly Bruvik
The Stuart Country Day graduate scored the first goal of the game for the Bucknell University field hockey team in a 7-3 loss to St. Joseph’s. Bruvik’s goal just 1:15 into the second half cut the deficit in half at 2-1. The goal was the first of the season and 17th of her career.
Bruvik is a senior midfielder for the Bison. As a junior, she started all 19 games and finished third on the team with 17 points on eight goals and an assist. Bruvik had the team’s best shots on goal percentage last season at .694.
Micaela Collins
The Montgomery High School graduate started in the Holy Cross women’s soccer team’s 2-0 season-opening win over Rhode Island. Collins was part of a Crusaders defense that allowed just seven shots all game, only two of which had to be saved.
Collins, a junior defender, played in all 19 games as a sophomore and started 18 of them. She had an assist against Central Connecticut State. Last year, she helped Holy Cross record six shutouts. She played in 17 games as a freshman.
