Scales pole to enter through second story
By Davy James, Staff Writer
South Brunswick police are searching for a burglar who climbed a basketball hoop and pole to gain entry to a second-floor window of a residence on Rocky Hill Road in Princeton Walk last weekend.
Homeowners had been away Saturday between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. When they returned home they found that the residence had been broken into, police said.
The investigation determined that the burglar or burglars used a basketball hoop to gain entry to the second-floor window. Police said the intruder placed the hoop against the home’s first-floor roof and climbed onto the roof using the basketball hoop.
Once on the roof, police said, the burglar removed a second-floor screen and popped the lock off the window to gain entry.
Once inside the home, the burglar ransacked the master bedroom and took an undisclosed amount of cash and jewelry.
Anyone with information on the burglary is asked to call South Brunswick police at 732-329-4646.
