Healthy aging focus of Sept.

On Sept. 1, Ocean County kicked off a month-long celebration highlighting the importance of taking care of one’s body and mind in order to age in a healthy way.

“We are celebrating healthy aging month during September,” said Freeholder Joseph H. Vicari, chairman of the Office of Senior Services. “Good health means a good quality of life, and we want to help the more than 160,000 [seniors] living in Ocean County to maintain healthy habits.”

Ocean County kicked off the monthlong celebration with a “meet and greet” at the County Connection at the Ocean County Mall, Toms River. Residents and visitors had a chance to meet Vicari, Jane Maloney, director of the Ocean County Office of Senior Services, and also representatives from the Senior Services HealthEASE Wellness Coalition.
