ROBBINSVILLE – AfterOurs Urgent Care of Robbinsville will offer free flu shots to first-responders who are employed by or volunteer for Robbinsville, Hamilton, East Windsor, West Windsor and Hightstown during special flu clinics this weekend, according to Dr. Scott Strauss, medical director.
Besides free shots for the first-responders, immediate family members who are with them can receive the shot for $15, or $10 if the family member brings a canned good for donation to area food pantries. "We have received a warm welcome from the area since opening in mid-May, and we wanted to give back to the community," Dr. Strauss said. "Our flu clinic will give first responders and their families an opportunity to be protected for flu season while helping others who are less fortunate. At the same time, we hope this effort helps control costs for the towns we serve." First-responders include police, paid and active volunteer firefighters, and emergency medical technicians. Participants are asked to bring a valid employment or volunteer ID to 1 Washington Blvd. during clinic hours, which are 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. weeknights and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekends and holidays.
