POLICE BLOTTER: Week of Sept. 9

   Brenda Pineda, 28, of Cass Street in Trenton, was charged with shoplifting for taking jewelry, worth a combined $50, from the J.C. Penney department store at the Quaker Bridge Mall at 3:13 p.m. Aug. 30, police said.
   A store loss prevention officer saw her pick up a toe ring and a pair of earrings and put them in her pants pocket, police said. She was issued a summons and released.

   A Breckenridge Place resident reported the theft of the front wheel and tire from two mountain bikes that were chained to a wooden fence in his back yard, police said. The theft occurred between 5 p.m. Aug. 26 and 11 a.m. Aug. 30. The wheels and tires were valued at a combined $100.

   A Trenton resident told police someone broke into his 2004 Chevrolet sedan and stole his HP laptop computer and its leather case while the car was parked behind the Papa John’s pizza store on Brunswick Pike between 1 p.m. Aug. 28 and 12:16 a.m. Aug. 29.
   The thief pried open the passenger’s side front door with a claw hammer and rummaged through the glove box and the center console. The laptop computer and its case were valued at a combined $330, police said.
