Marlboro resident to play Conrad Birdie

Guild Theatreworks, a resident theater company at the 400-seat historic Jersey Shore Arts Center, Ocean Grove, will present “Bye Bye Birdie,” Sept. 11-19. The upbeat score features “The Telephone Hour,” “A Lot of Livin’ to Do,” “Kids” and “Put On a Happy Face.” “Bye Bye Birdie” stars Kaitlyn Bernaski (Oakhurst) as Rosie Alvarez and Anthony Greco (Oakhurst) as Albert Peterson, Birdie’s manager. Phil Mazzara (Marlboro) is featured as rock ’n’ roll crooner Conrad Birdie, with Maggie Bera (Sayreville) as Kim MacAfee.

“Bye Bye Birdie” will be performed Sept. 17-18 at 8 p.m. and Sept. 19 at 3 p.m. Tickets are on sale at $20 for adults and $15 for students and children. For more information and tickets, call 732-502-0153.
